The Abstract Parenthesis

Gianbecchina's abstract parenthesis covers a time span from 1960 to 1965, but the Sicilian master will never be a geometric abstractionist, but rather an all-material abstractionist.

His is a painting that descends into the bowels of the earth, the tumult of lines, shapes and colors only seemingly generating abstract images, a nature in clear movement that exalts the blooming and sprouting of life hidden in the expanses of the earth.
